DR BRUCE LONG

Dr Bruce Long (PhD MPhil BA Hons1 B App. Sc. Grad Dip Psychology in progress) is a philosopher and cognitive scientist. He received his PhD from The University of Sydney in 2019. Dr Long earned and held an APA/UPA scholarship from The University of Sydney for three and a half years, with a six month extension. His interests include the philosophy of information, the philosophy of psychology, the ethics of AI and information, political theory, and the philosophy of religion. Dr Long is a passionate sinologist and spent time travelling and living in China (mostly in 宜昌在湖北) in 2016. He is currently doing research in cognitive science and the philosophy of psychology, while finishing his first monograph (on the philosophy of science and information.)

Dr Long has taught various courses in philosophy, meta-ethics, normative ethics, logic, and the philosophy of science at several Australian Universities including The University of Sydney, The University of Melbourne, Western Sydney University, Federation University, and Macquarie University.

He is the founder of Austrlaian political party The Progress Party.

​

He frequently writes posts and articles about philosophy of information and cognitive science at IIMx.
