Re: Sino-Australian relations and Australian anti-Chinese misinformation
Dear --, 我说普通话和使用拼音但是只一点所以我应以使用英语 I hope that you and yours have remained well and safe during a sadly hazardous year.
I have been very concerned that Western misrepresentation of the affairs and actions of The People’s Republic of China and The Chinese Communist Party is causing unnecessary, and serious, damage to Sino-Australian relations, and to Australia’s economy. It is very clear that, in most cases, sensationalist misinformation that is grounded in bigotry and prejudice is what motivates US and Australian politicians like Michael Pompeo and Scott Morrison in their unwarranted attacks on the Chinese Communist Party. Regrettably, the same evidently applies also to research institutes such as The Australian Strategic Policy Institute.
I have recently sent an email and letter (attached to my forwarded email to you) to the Executive Director of the Australian Strategic Policy Institute. The letter requests access to data and research designs for studies done in relation to Xinjiang, and in relation to the activities of 中国共产党在澳大利亚.
My purpose is:
· To test and check the impartiality and correctness of the work of ASPI and other institutes in relation to anti-terror programs in Xinjiang, and the global engagement programs of The Chinese Communist Party (CCP) and The PRC.
· To conduct meta-analyses, and replication studies, to determine the reproducibility of any quantitative and qualitative statistical results performed by these institutes.
· To detect any bias and investigator effects in the research and research reports.
· To counter (regrettably) comprehensive biased research and misinformation about China and the programs and activities of the CCP.
Tools deployed include information theory, information theoretic narrative and memetic analysis, statistical analysis (quantitative and qualitative), and interdisciplinary cognitive science.
I have sent similar letters to other Australian research institute heads including The Australia-China Relations Institute of The University of Technology in Sydney, and The Lowy Institute. I will be forwarding more letters to departments at The Australian National University and The University of Sydney (my alumnus), among others. I am seeking the best and most accurate data that you can offer me about:
1. The anti-terrorism program of 中国共产党 in Xijiang province and other provinces, including any anti-terror education facilities.
3. Installations and structures that have been incorrectly identified by Western commentators and researchers as part of the program.
5. The research of Chinese scientists working to understand and combat the zoonotic COVID-19 virus.
7. Any information regarding the misinformation campaign of Yan LiMeng (I am currently performing a meta-analysis of the informational integrity of Dr Yan's article).
9. Any misinformation and disinformation about the programs of the CCP in Australia
11. Any other matters that you feel require the kind of rigorous professional attention that I am applying to those issues.
If there is anything that I can do for you, or for any of your representatives, in relation to these or other matters, then please do not hesitate to contact me. I am available and at your disposal. I currently intend to contact appropriate members of the State Council of the People’s Republic of China and Chinese Ministry of Foreign Affairs in China regarding these matters also.
I am happy to make available to you and your Embassy, and to any of your colleagues in China, my research data and materials as my projects progress. Several of my preliminary studies (in early access and draft format) are available for perusal and collaboration at the Open Science Framework public website:
