The US MIC surround and contain, ruling US bases, US orders, and aetiology

I don't know, Professor Laurenceson. Seems like the US might be more prominent in the causal aetiology and causal nexus than that.
We useless, nutty philosophers (speaking only for myself of course) are practiced at handling aetiology. One has to avoid leaving important upstream causes out of one's considerations.
There's also the 'systems interactions' element. The neato thing about #geoeconomic theory is that it recognises the complex causal interaction between various systems: social psychology, geopolitics, economics, and culture - going back in the timeline of events (history) as far as is required. The history of the interaction between The West and #China is salient - going back at least to the Opium Wars.
The known and likely motives of Western intelligence agencies and the military industrial and military business complex is also salient. It's just not reasonable in diplomatic or general social terms to expect #China - when faced with Australia's brazen participation in the US' 'surround and contain' bullying and efforts to make Taiwan a replacement geostrategic intelligence station for Hong Kong - not to impose sanctions on our trade with them.
What is #China supposed to do? Sit back on their hands and say "Sure. Go Ahead. No problem. Attack us on multiple fronts with the US on a diplomatic, cultural, political, racial, and religious basis and we'll just pretend it did not happen." Can you imagine how Britain or the #US would respond to such behaviour? They'd be surpassingly imperious in their umbrage, at best.
While we're busy blaming China - but more specifically the awful godless CPC - for everything, I guess we get the enormous enjoyment of being entertained by ASPI and Peter Dutton's US foreign influence muppet show. Perhaps the US submarine deal that will take three decades to deliver is like the side order of fries with our heaping helping of US ruling basic orders? Dutton and Morrison will both have banked their fat taxpayer funded salaries and invested them in missile shops and ASPI for their retirements by the time the fruits of AUKUS are realised (or else have gone well and truly rotten).
