The split-from-reality delusions of Scott Morrison's megacult are bad for you.

Shouldn't we take a pragmatic view of fideism and megacult delusions (i.e. religious faithism and theism) and say that they probably don't really affect the ability of the faithful to do practical things, and that sometimes they might 'accidentally' result in good outcomes due to the fact that they involve a degree of social cohesion?
Not really. No:
If you think their delusional beliefs are not what caused delusional megacultist Scott Morrison and other infidelophobic, megacult mental patients - aided by #sinophobic US-MIC sycophants - to damage to our Universities, then you're struggling to see basic facts. Likewise if you think it's not also ascribable to megacult anti-intellectualism and anti-humanism.
You're all subject to Morrison's obvious split from reality and his bizarre, sick godism now. Religious wars still go on in our society. It's time to get the delusional fundies out of government.
Godist delusions are not due respect, deference, or even patience. With climate crises and pandemics we no longer have any time for such idiocy. We cannot afford it as a species. Not even those of us who are fiercely individualistic.
(By the way: consider the further insanity of the average theist's commitment to free will and agency, while they're subsumed under the mind-numbingly ignorant group-think of fideist, theist delusion. It would be hilarious if it was not so painfully stupid and famously damaging.)
Let's be clear here. Adults who have an imaginary omnipotent friend are not well. They are split from reality. There is no way around this diagnosis. If you put them where they can do damage, they will most likely do damage.
Get them out of parliament.
You're all subject to the insanity of their bizarre megacult doctrine. All megacult doctrines are delusional and insane, but some are specifically configured to have properties and semantic content that will cause mayhem - like a prosperity doctrine grounded in a delusion about an all powerful sky faerie.
This is not some raving of a malcontent or socially maladjusted agent. Think about it. Be realistic. These people are adults with imaginary friends. It's long since time we all faced what people like Morrison really are: not coping and sick in the head. Their alleged pro-sociality is an illusion due to numbers and deceptive personality traits, at best.
Not to mention the arrant, comprehensive, and astonishing bigotry against unbelief, naturalism, and deep infidelophobia inherent in their delusional doctrines.
If you're the kind of person that does better with metaphors: the elephant in the room is that your PM is a dangerous nut.
