Political Party Versus Senate Nomination

In case you were wondering.
Progress is a real political party. Registration of political parties takes time and finance, and involves getting support from the community. You get support and develop a community first, then you register. One cannot do it in reverse. One has to have backers and real, genuine party members first.
The existence of political parties is about will and community. Registration is just paperwork.
Campaigns for senate nomination are a separate but associated matter and process. One can nominate for the senate in Australia without being affiliated with any political party (independents.) In other words: Dr Long does not have to successfully launch Progress in order to nominate for Senate.
Campaigning can take many forms. There is nothing wrong with on line campaigning (especially during COVID!).
SO - if you're an atheist and you agree that you would really rather not have your nation run by delusionals with imaginary omniscient friends who also think that you should obey their imaginary friend (which is obviously really crazy) and who think they are socially and morally superior to you because of their imaginary friend (also both crazy and stupid) then support Dr Long's bid for senate.
When it comes to politics, pragmatism is key, but so are determination, goal, and purpose. Dr Long has what it takes to do the work of getting delusional imperatives and agents out of parliament. Such agents trade on the allowances availed them by an in-principle democratic political system.
Do you think that a delusional like our current Prime Minister has no intention of using his office to increase the influence in our society of his nutty megacult, and to avail that socially and otherwise pathological megacult of more opportunities for expansion and influence? If you think so, then I suggest that you're beyond naïve. Megacults trade on the kind of memetic narrative perpetuation and propagation that political offices make available to them. Scott Morrison doesn't literally preach from the political podium, but he doesn't have to. He just has to get the leaders of his nutty megacult invited to The White House, publicise his involvement in the megacult (or allow others to do it for him) and move things around policy-wise so that the megacult cannot be opposed in spreading its pathological memetic narratives.
Social narratives and the conceptual schemas that are associated with them can be influenced and changed via conceptual engineering and education. Megacult delusionals use them. We should use them back. How many of our recent PMs and treasurers have been megacultists? Let me tell you:
Howard: Methodist megacult fundamentalist
Keating: Uniting church megacult fundamentalist
Abbott: Catholic megacult fundamentalist
Costello: Baptist megacult fundamentalist
Morrison: Pentecostal megacult fundamentalist
Rudd: Anglican megacult fundamentalist
Turnbull: Catholic
Atheist PM Julia Gillard was not popularly elected and had a short term. Not since perhaps Bob Hawke have we had an elected Prime Minster who was not a megacultist with an imaginary friend
It's like a revolving door for megacult 'try outs'. It's as if democracy has nothing to do with it, but someone is deciding that everyone gets a turn!
Delusional megacultists are sick people, and should not get a turn at controlling foreign policy from the office of Prime Minster and from parliament.
